Ways to Step In, Leap Out during Advent
We have many ways for you to get involved and give this Advent Season. We invite you to look over these opportunities and choose which ones work for you!
Advent Shoe Collection:
This year, as we move through the Advent Season, we are asking children of all ages to bring shoes of all sizes that will be gathered under our Christmas trees throughout Advent and will be shared with various ministries in need. Feel free to bring your items in gift bags, if you wish.
December 2: Peace Please bring boots
December 9: Joy Please bring tennis shoes
December 16: Love Please bring kids’ shoes
December 23: Hope Please bring everyday shoes
Bethlehem on Broad Street Food Boxes:
Help us fill 200 Food Boxes for Columbus area families in need this Christmas. Give some of the items or completely fill a box. All food must be in cans or plastic containers; no glass, please! A complete list is available in the church office. Please bring your donation to the church by Dec 4. Volunteers are needed to load boxes for transport on Sat, Dec. 8.
Angel Tree:
Please help us provide Christmas gifts for children in Worthington Schools and the United Methodist Free Store
Christmas Shop. Choose an ornament from the tree – purchase a gift from the wish list on the ornament – return the unwrapped gift to the church, with the ornament attached. Ornaments for Worthington Schools items will be due Dec 2. And ornaments for UM Free Store Christmas Shop items will be due Dec 17.
Sock Tree:
The Sock Tree will be just inside the main entrance to the church. We hope to fill the tree with warm socks, hats, gloves, and scarves for all ages. Please hang your donations on the tree.
Underwear Drawer:
Our chest of drawers will be by the main entrance to the church. Please place your donations of new underwear in the chest.
NNEMAP Advent Project: We are making grooming kits for the NNEMAP Pantry as an Advent project. There are large zip-lock bags with labels attached of the list of items for the kit set up in the ministry hallway. If you can, please
consider picking up a bag and donating!
NNEMAP Toy Room: Please help NNEMAP stock their Toy Room with Christmas gifts for children, ages birth-17. The Toy Room will be open December 10-15. Gift suggestions include balls, ethnic dolls, games, art supplies, hats, gloves, scarves, socks, jewelry, nail polish, OSU apparel, and ear buds. Please return unwrapped donations to the church no later than Sunday, December 9.
