Children’s Church
Worshipping with the whole congregation is so important for children. The opportunity to also spend time with other children helps them build relationships with each other and further their faith development. That’s why during the second half of our worship services we offer children from 4 years to 3rd grade the opportunity to participate in Children’s Church. This wonderful children’s program tailors scripture readings, lessons and activities to be more approachable for our younger ones.
Sunday School for Children
The primary way children participate in and learn their faith is at home with family. Yet, Sunday School has a role too in preparing families by interacting with the Bible stories and our faith traditions. We host Sunday School for all ages and stages. Classes for Kindergarten to 6th grade are located on our 3rd floor. Our Nursery and Toddler rooms are also open during our Sunday School hours. And Pre-Kindergarten children are welcome to participate in our Rainbow Singers program which takes place in the Sanctuary.
Nursery and Toddler Care
There is no more important ministry in the church than the care and nurturing of young children. At Worthington UMC, we see God’s love active in the lives of infants and toddlers, and we are privileged to provide a nurturing environment for our youngest friends.
Junior Active Ministry (JAM)
JAM is the perfect combination of fun and engaging activities for young people a little old for Children’s Church, but not quite ready for Youth Group. JAM meets once-a-month during the school year from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Various activities including laser tag, visiting a corn maze, playing games at the church, and participating in outreach activities make JAM fun for all. It’s a great way to get to know other friends as we help ease the transition of this age group into our Youth Group program.
