WUMC offers two Summer Camps for 2024
We have two great ways for your kids to get involved this Summer!
Vacation Bible School: June 10-14
VBS is available for children ages 3 (must be potty-trained) through 3rd grade. During the week, we will be learning through four well-loved Disney movies alongside favorited Bible stories that will bring the theme of “how to care for the Earth” to life for each child in a new way! We have developed our own curriculum based off of the movies Elemental, The Lion King, Pocahontas and Frozen 2! Each day we will be focusing on one of these movies. We start as a large group together watching specific scenes that support our theme to kick off our learning. As we dive deep into the theme of caring for God’s Creation, we will use Bible stories, crafts, games, music and science lessons each day to learn and have fun!
Cost is $40 per child. You can pay ahead now by visiting Worthington UMC’s payment site and selecting Vacation Bible School. You can also drop off payment by cash or check into our church office in an envelope marked VBS and the name of your child.
We ask you to please complete registration and payment by Monday, May 27. This helps guarantee a t-shirt for your child, and ensure we have an accurate headcount for dinners and supplies. Registration after May 27 will be only be approved if space is available.
*We need many hands to make VBS happen! Please consider how you may give support. Could you help with set-up or take down? Or pick a night to help with dinner clean-up? If so, you can sign up for that on the registration site as well, or simply e-mail Ashley Gerard.

Explorations: July 29-August 1
“Serve one another in love” Galatians 5:13
Come join us for a day camp focused on serving our local community! Any incoming 4th grader through incoming 7th grader is invited to attend Explorations, July 29 through August 1. We will meet at the church each morning Monday through Thursday at 10am and finish our day back at the church for pick-up at 2pm. Each of these days will be mission and outreach focused. Serving others is a foundational aspect of our faith development! We will grow as a group in fellowship through giving back in various ways.
The goal of the week will be to give experiences that will allow us to learn about needs in our local community and how it takes all of us to support one another! We will be serving places like local resource pantries, where we get to learn from each host site on what they do in their area to support others. We may be sorting donations, or prepping items to be ready to give. One of our days we will spend at a local farm animal sanctuary that we have partnered with for the last nine years! We will be outdoors the entire time, cleaning areas, grooming animals and just spending time sharing love to the rescued animals that live there! Sunrise Sanctuary in Marysville, Ohio is truly a special place.
Cost will be $30 per child. We will be making a packed lunch each morning to bring with us – so please let me know about any food allergies or accommodations we will need to make.
If you are interested in being an adult chaperone for a day or more, we would love to have you! We will need a few volunteers to help make the week happen.
