At-Home Vacation Bible School: June 13-18
Join us for a week of Bible curriculum for kids ages 3 – 3rd grade! This year’s theme is “we are wonderfully made!” with our friends from Toy Story! We will open with an outdoor event for all, Sunday, June 13, 4 pm, where you can pick up your resource kit. Then, Monday-Thursday, follow the resource kit for a guided adventure. Finally, join us on Friday, June 18, 6 pm for an outdoor celebration and concert! For more information, contact Ashley at ashley@worthingtonumc.com
Work Camp: June 21-25
Eligible Ages: Incoming Freshman – Graduated Senior
We will be meeting at various local Columbus mission sites each day of the week to serve our own community. While the travel aspect of Work Camp brings a special aspect to our week, we know that this year, it is still best practice to stay local. That being said, we won’t want to miss the opportunity for us to gather for the week! The exact details and times of each day are TBD, but most organizations operate within typical work day hours between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. ReachOut: July 18-24
Eligible Ages: Incoming 8th Grade – Graduated Senior
ReachOut is typically held in Lakeside, Ohio for a week-long camp planned and run by seven elected high school campers. With the Governor’s Orders in place for this Summer, the ReachOut board voted to continue one more Summer of camp being virtual, with the hopes of a major In-Person Winter Retreat! That being said, the planning committee has been actively working on how to make the experience more interactive, including live-streamed worship services and an at-home supply kit for each camper to experience the week of camp. Registration will open in April through East Ohio camps!
Explorations: July 26-29
Eligible Ages: Incoming 4th Grade – Incoming 7th Grade
Explorations will function very similarly to our typical year! Each day, our group will serve a local service organization that supports our Columbus community! This year, we will need parents to provide their own transportation to and from the mission sites directly, and provide each student with their own packed lunch. This will include locations like the Worthington Resource Pantry and our annual trip to Sunrise Sanctuary which is a farm animal sanctuary in Marysville. This will be our 6th year taking a group to visit Sunrise Sanctuary to spend time with their animals. West Ohio Camps are offered at 3 locations – Camp Otterbein, Camp Wesley, and Camp Widewater. This summer, they have adapted to follow safety procedures within the Governor’s Orders for summer camps. Find more details at their website!
