Dear Church Family,
Our missions and outreach at Worthington United Methodist—a kind hand to the underserved, to our communities, to the larger world, and even to our own in the congregation—reflect Christ’s love through humility, compassion, and generosity. In the end, we should want to SEE those we reach, and to provide them the wonderful feeling that they are not alone.
Throughout October, we celebrate the incredible ways the eyes of our hearts have been WIDE open in 2024. This congregation sees all of God’s children. We see the good we can do, and we see the missions that reach far beyond our walls.
It is the time of year to identify the commitments we will make to the church and to each other for the coming year. The Stewardship team now asks the congregation to dedicate your time, talent, gifts, presence, and witness for 2025 and help continue our good works.
This is always a time to reflect. We ask us all again to explore your “why” in the worship of Jesus Christ. We ask you: who of God’s children needs you to SEE them?
Thank you for thoughtfully praying on your commitments to the church. Please bring your Commitment Form to Commitment Sunday, October 27 or feel free to mail it or drop it off in the office with full confidentiality. You can also fill out the information online. Links to both the online and the printable versions of the Commitment Form are to the left of this letter.
And finally, like last year, we’ll invite you to sign up for ministry and missions in the near future. In the weeks to come, you’ll hear more about the missions that might call on your witness.
In ministry with you,
Lou

Ways to Give at Worthington UMC
When you are truly “seen,” you experience something beyond empathy. Your challenges, and the path you’ve taken are truly understood. To be seen means that you FEEL that person beside you. It’s a relief. It’s a connection. It brings peace and empowerment.
Our missions and outreach at WUMC – a kind hand to the underserved, to our communities, to the larger world, and even to our own in the congregation –reflect Christ’s love through humility, compassion, and generosity. In the end, we should want to SEE those we reach, and to provide them the wonderful feeling that they are not
alone.
In Ephesians 1:17-19 (NIV), Paul writes: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.”
In these weeks before Commitment Sunday, October 27, we celebrate the incredible ways the eyes of our hearts have been WIDE open in 2024. This congregation sees all of God’s children. We see the good we can do, and we see the missions that reach far beyond our walls.
Throughout October, we will share the witness of those among the church and the congregation that show great ability to reach out, and to see, and to be seen. We’re very excited to bring the congregation together for this.
This season is always a time to reflect. It is the time of year to identify the commitments we will make to the church and to each other in the coming year. Hear the words, share these experiences, and consider how you again can dedicate your time, talent, gifts, and presence in 2025 to help continue our good works.
