October 12 , 2020 Dear Servants of Christ: We entered 2020 expecting a challenging year; the challenges are different from what we anticipated , but we are finding our way through this changing world. 2021 will continue to challenge us with change and we are find ing different ways of being together in Christ. As the chaos caused by the pandemic has forced us to be separate and apart from each other, we seek ways to connect. Our theme for 2020 -2021 is: Connected in Chaos, Connected to All, Connected by Go d. We will seek ways to deepen and strengthen our connections despite the distances we feel. We want to celebrate the ties that we have in the world as children of God. Truly God does connect us by love and by grace and will help us overcome the chaos that swirls round us. Consider this a season of growth as we learn to be a bit more flexible, a bit more patient and a bit more alert for God’s presence and call. We are a strong congregation that is brimming with hearts of giving and service. Many of us are seeking and finding opportunities to be in service with each other and to the community even as the pandemic continues . We are learning to act in new ways and better understand our connectedness through our gifts, donations and service. This congregation’s giving in these times has been overwhelming. So many of you have been able to share financially. Please let prayer lead you as you determine how your generosity can make a difference. In doing so, you may find the blessing of a new level of spirituality a nd faithfulness . There are opportunities for service and new ways to connect, even in this time. These are on the enclosed material. If you are able to continue activities, please do so. Remember to watch for giving and serving opportunities that are anno unced in communication material or during worship service. One thing we have learned during this unusual time is to be able to adapt and needs are not always known at commitment time but show up later; so, please stay alert for additional opportunities. It takes working together to share God’s grace and love for all people. We as k God to help us as together we celebrate the blessings and opportunities we have been given. Commitment Sunday is October 25. If you are in worship that day, you will be able to deliver your commitments in a safe manner . Otherwise, they may be mailed or completed on -line. The details are on the enclosed material. In ministry with you. Cyndy Garn John Girard Ashley Gerard
